The Role of the CDI

The Career Guidance Center is one of the key resources for the development, learning, and training of our high school students and staff:

  • Students and all staff members may borrow or consult books, encyclopedias, and dictionaries on site for research and reference purposes,
  • Teachers can use the designated space with a class or a group of students to conduct research as part of a project or when covering a topic in the curriculum,
  • The computer lab allows you to search the Internet for a project, a presentation, or a report,
  • The reading corner invites you to stay up to date by reading daily newspapers, weekly magazines, or specialized journals—or simply to enjoy reading comic books, …
  • The library is a place for quiet reflection.

The resources made available

A pleasant room, divided into several areas, welcomes visitors:

  • the reception,
  • the rows of books,
  • reading corners with magazines and periodicals
  • the computer room, equipped with twelve computers and a color printer,
  • the classroom.

The bright, inviting atmosphere encourages students to browse the bookshelves, flip through books, and settle in to read a newspaper. During lunch break and after class, students are welcome to come to the library to read, do research, and prepare for class.

More than 10,000 items (books, dictionaries, journals, encyclopedias) are currently available.

The librarian, who is essential to the smooth operation of the school library, welcomes users, offers advice, assists them with research, catalogs new acquisitions in the “a-z.lu” union catalog of the Luxembourg library network, selects and orders new titles in collaboration with teachers and students, processes book loans, and organizes special events.

The LJBM’s Documentation and Information Center (CDI) was officially inaugurated by Anne Brasseur, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, on April 22, 2004, in the presence of several classes, teachers, and school administrators.
